Hello, my name’s Tien.

I was born and raised in Malaysia, the land of good food and hot sunny weather. I am an engineer by training but I realise now that I would fare much better with something less technical because I think I am not analytical enough.

I am currently residing in New Zealand as an international student.

I love food, music, movies and TV shows. I have a weakness for cakes and ice creams, cheese, Michael Bublé, and Hollywood productions.

I am an animal lover. I love love love dogs. Alfie is my family dog back in Malaysia and I miss him to bits. Cats, rabbits, hamsters, birds, you name it, I would cuddle it.  However, I cannot stand geckos (lizards) and frogs….zero tolerance! Otherwise, I love animals.

I love cooking and baking. I enjoy trying and sharing recipes (that work…) and cooking for friends. I hate the washing and cleaning that follows though…

Recently I have grown to like gardening. Harvesting edible greens and strawberries from my very own little patch is indeed very delightful!

Occasionally, I enjoy writing too. I hope blogging will help me nourish this passion into something I would be proud of…someday. You see, I have always fancied the idea of being a writer, having my own column and all. Think: Carrie Bradshaw. Okay, that’s a little far-fetched….

    Hi Tien! I found your site because you found mine when I was Freshly Pressed on Feb 14. Anyway, I remembered that you are in New Zealand and just wanted to check in on you and make sure all is well after the earthquake. Praying for you all!

      Thank you Debbi! The earthquake is at Christchurch while I am in Auckland, an airplane ride away. I am safe. Thank you for your prayers and remembering. It’s a very sad day in NZ….

    Hi Tien ….

    read all the posts on the first page … as one of ur fellow reader has already said that u can make a simple article intersting – and it’s so very true ! ur prawn recipe was interesting n new to me … we are used to musturd paste n garlic. ur yogurt bun looked yummy but my brother would be more interesting in it as he like baking n i eating them. The ‘aglio e olio pasta’ is my favourite too as we’re in Italy for 3 years n had eaten them everyday – by the end of our staying i was sick of them … but now again they’re are food of heaven. The best one was about ur name …. i instantly began i like u for the fact that u r proud of ur self n who u r … i m happy to found ur blog – it sound very flimy – sorry can’t stop writing this :) Good Luck with ur iphone and off course with ur “phD”.
